President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Turkey on October 25-26, 2017, upon the invitation of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It is the first Presidential visit from Uzbekistan to Turkey after nearly 20 years and is of historic importance.
The Presidents will hold a bilateral meeting and co-chair a meeting between delegations where they will discuss the issues of expansion of Uzbek-Turkish cooperation in political, economic, investment, transport-communication and other fields, joint counteraction to global and regional challenges and threats, as well as views will exchange views on international issues.
The delegation of Uzbekistan will also visit Istanbul.
At the end of the visit, it is planned to adopt a Joint Statement of the heads of states, to sign a package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents aimed at further development of bilateral relations in various spheres.
These all focused on creation of favorable conditions for mutually beneficial relations between the businesses of Uzbekistan and Turkey, intensification of tourist exchange, cultural and humanitarian contacts.
