The negotiations conducted during the recent visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Turkiye Yıldırım Tuğrul Türkeş, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi, Minister of Tourism and Culture Nabi Avcı together with group of high officials from several Turkish state offices and dozens Turkish representatives of business to Uzbekistan have proved that both countries are interested in getting the mutual relations to the level that should be.
The contracts and agreements worth more than USD 2 billions, 30 projects in pharmaceutics, textile industry, electro-technical, construction and banking sectors – this is just the material result of the 4th meeting of Turkish-Uzbek Joint Economic Commission held in Tashkent. But in fact, the meeting has resulted much more; it has set up new era of mutual business relations – equal benefits-centred brotherhood business.
Privileges and preferences for foreign direct investments in Uzbekistan together with great potential of the country offer great opportunities for investments and create a 35-million-populated market for the business that invests to Uzbekistan. This is well-understood by Turkish business too. At the same time today Uzbekistan is not the only country that might be Turkish investments directed. Therefore, the both sides consider another, not related with business factor – common roots and values of the countries. Common business will serve to strengthen brotherhood ties, cultural and social relations – this may be declared as the main aim set in the Joint Economic Commission meeting.
Relations in tourism have been the other big field of negotiations. Minister of Tourism and Culture of Turkiye Nabi Avcı has mentioned that Turkiye wants to share his 30 year experience with Uzbekistan so that not to repeat some mistakes of Turkiye in this sector and to reach the goals in shorter time.
Yıldırım Tuğrul Türkeş, Nihat Zeybekçi and Nabi Avcı have been received by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The President mentioned his satisfaction with the level of development of mutual relations and dialogue.
Surely, this is the not the final – the planned meeting of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will definitely open bigger page in mutual relations.
